How to Use Aromatherapy Oils and Candles
![]() |
Aromatherapy is a gread way of adding fragrance to your home is a practical way. There are many different aromatherapy oils and candles that can be used to scent your living space. First, let's talk about the oils. You can find essential oils as well as synthetic fragrance oils in many different varieties. Essential oils are the most pure and natural way to use scented oil. They are extracted directly from the plant and are pure essences. Then there are synthetic fragrance oils, which are ideal if you want a particular scent that you cannot achieve with essential oils.
Scented oils of all kinds can be used in many different ways around the house. Try adding a few drops to your laundry rinse cycle to fragrance your clothing. Put a few drops of oil on some cotton balls and hide them around your home. Good hiding places include under couch cushions and in wastebaskets. You'll get the benefit of the scent all over your home. You can also use scented oils in oil burners. These burners are powered by a tea light candle over which there is a glass bowl. Simply pour some oil in the glass bowl, light the tea candle and soon your home will fill with fragrance. You may also want to look into lamp rings, which hold scented oil and are placed on your lightbulbs. The warmth from the lightbulb releases the scent.
There are various ways to use candles as well. You can burn them, of course. But that's not the only way to release their scent. You may want to try a candle warmer. The candle is placed inside the warmer and the device is turned on. It heats up and releases the scent of the candle without the need for fire. Candle warmers are perfect for homes with children and/or pets where lit candles are unsafe.
You can find a variety of aromatherapy oils and candles at your local candle shop and/or craft store. In addition, you can order all kinds of candles and related supplies online. There are a growing number of specialty candle shops selling handmade scented candles and oils online. Many of today's small etailers are offering all kinds of appealing choices for reasonable prices. It's never been a better time to get into the aromatic world of home fragrance!
